This exclusive session with Farma Director of Education, Andrea Sparr-Jaswa, will begin with a 30-minute overview on the basics of dosing and product types. She will also discuss the importance of terpenes, or ‘scent profiles’, and how training your nose can go a long way to help you recognize preferential patterns in your personal consumption.

The second half of the hour will take you into the shop, where you will have a fully-staffed Farma to further answer your questions one-on-one and help personally curate your selections. This session is running two times.

OS 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. | Sex & Cannabis with Amory Jane, presented by Luminous Botanicals

Oregon’s Finest – 736 NE MLK Jr Blvd.

Legalization of cannabis on the West Coast has allowed more and more folks to explore how this popular plant may affect their sex lives. From decreasing chronic pain, to increasing sensitivity and arousal, to helping with relaxation and body image, using cannabis has helped many people enhance their sexual experiences.

You don’t have to be a stoner to attend this class, or even need to smoke. Cannabis comes in many forms: concentrates, tinctures, edibles, flowers and topicals (including Luminous Botanicals’ cannabis lubricant) Amory Jane, M.A. is here to break it all down; in this workshop, she’ll share the current research on cannabis use, talk about differences between THC and CBD, and offer advice on which strains may work best for certain sexual issues. She will also help you figure out which cannabis products and methods of consumption (if any) might be a good fit for you and/or a partner, and she will dive into the real pros and cons of combining cannabis and sex.

Amory Jane is a sex educator, comedic storyteller, event producer (Whoopee! A Sex-Positive Variety Show), and host of the podcast Sex on the Brain with Amory Jane. She is also the Education Coordinator at She Bop in Portland, Oregon.

OS 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. | Psychedelics & Cannabis Therapeutics

Feastly Space – 912 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
CC BADGE ALLOWS ACCESS

Are psychedelic drugs therapeutic? How do psychedelics relate to medical cannabis? Psychedelic drugs and cannabis compounds tap into how we function biologically and spiritually on a deep level. Both have shown promise for treating trauma, addictive behaviors, and depression. The antidepressant effects of psychedelics and cannabis are contingent on enhanced neuroplasticity and neurogenesis (the creation of new brain cells), which are regulated by the endocannabinoid system. Whereas high doses of THC (the principal psychoactive component of cannabis) can cause vivid psychedelic-like effects, microdosing LSD and psilocybin is more akin to taking CBD, a non-intoxicating cannabis component with significant medical attributes. Join Martin A. Lee, director of Project CBD, for the discussion.

TR 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. | VIP Infused Dinner with chef Leather Storrs, benefitting NuLeaf Project

OS 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. | Biomimicry, Quality, and the Preservation of Landrace Genetics

Feastly Space – 912 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
CC BADGE ALLOWS ACCESS
RSVP ENCOURAGED HERE

Come geek out with long-time growers, emerging technology experts, and organic growing evangelists including a special guest (hint: he’s been called The Lord of the Roots). This panel will explore the potential of emerging biomimicry technologies to emulate nature in controlled environments and to preserve rare, heirloom, and landrace chemovars. These are some of the most sought-after and medicinally valuable chemovars in the world. And yet, market-driven forces, climate change, deforestation, and genetic dilution represent existential threats. Worse still, preserving them via indoor cultivation is notoriously difficult. Under artificial light and with synthetic inputs, most fail to thrive. The panel will discuss how biomimicry technologies are allowing these plants to flourish indoors. If you’re a cultivator/farmer obsessed with quality and standing out in an over-crowded market, this one is for you.

MS RH 3:00 P.M. | ECONOMIC JUSTICE: WHAT’S THE HOLD-UP?

Shanel Lindsay, Ardent; Raeven Duckett, Supernova Women; with Moderator Amanda Chicago Lewis

Most people agree in theory that cannabis legalization should consider the people and communities who were harmed by prohibition. But across the country, from NY to LA, from Boston to the Bay Area, the fight over how best to do so has created conflict and gridlock. We’ll examine why that is, with an entrepreneur from the Oakland market and an attorney who helped write the law in Massachusetts.

MS RH 3:50 P.M. | NURTURING YOUR ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM

Trista Okel, Empower Body Care; Katie Stem, Peak Extracts; Adie Rae, PhD, SmartCannabis™

Our bodies have many systems. And, for most, we know how to care for them. Immune systems need Vitamin C and proper sleep, for example. But rarely does modern health practice integrate a discussion about a health endocannabinoid (eCB) system, or what it takes to maintain one. Three experts team up to discuss the importance of a balanced eCB system, and the link between eCB deficiency and autoimmune disease.

MS RH 4:40 P.M. | YOUR BRAIN ON WEED: CONCUSSIONS AND CANNABIS

Ethan Russo, MD, International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute; with Amanda Chicago Lewis

Amanda Chicago Lewis has spent the past year recovering from a traumatic brain injury. The two will sit down to talk as doctor and patient, but also as expert and journalist, discussing healing best practices as well as challenging realities. For additional context and perspective, Dr. Russo will present some of his key findings on cannabis and the injured brain.
